Wassup LiyiaTribe thank you for tuning in at Under the Layers. Today is November 19, 2020, and I have scheduled a discussion on personal-development. Personal-Development is very vital when living in everyday life. Changing the way you view things can change your personal perspective on life tremendously. Viewing life from the negative lenses is very problematic when trying to find peace with yourself and others. If you want just a little more insight into my life, feel free to check out my homepage where you can see brief segments about present-day Caliyia. Remember that throughout each week you will also still learn more about me since I am still learning about myself. Without further ado, let us get into different ways to prosper in personal-development. Just like Tuesday's post, I will add an official definition of what personal-development is. “Personal development is a lifelong process. It is a way for people to assess their skills and qualities, consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realize and maximize their potential”(Skillsyouneed). Some may say that this definition mirrors the same that you read previously on Tuesday, but I disagree. Self-improvement is you gaining and focusing on your growth and striving to be better. Personal development to me starts the self-improvement process. It is all in confidence, positivity, mindset, mentality, spirit, and focus. If you do not want to improve yourself or think that you cannot and you have not even started you should begin to work on some of the characteristics I just named. Start small make a list, set goals, and make fun challenges. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it, all you have to do is stay focused and self-driven. For example, we can consider changing your wardrobe to brighter colors, increasing your use of self-care, maturing, spending time, and money on yourself. All of these are great ways to start your personal development. I did all of these challenging changes to get me out of my comfort zone and starting my growth into new things. One big thing that I did was my weight loss journey that still has not been reached yet. I started at 230lbs. and have made my way down to 171.2; this took a lot of confidence and motivation. I would have not been able to accomplish this big challenge in my life without positivity, a good mentality, and spirit. I started by changing my diet to keto and working out whether it is at home or at the gym. I stay in my calorie deficit and intermittent fast to where I only eat in the hours between 12-8. My goal is 155 or 150, but I mainly focus on inches than the weight being lost. It is a process and overall a goal system. I wrote all of this to say; anyone can achieve all that they have desired it just depends on your hard work and dedication.
