Wassup LiyiaTribe!!!!!! Thank you for tuning in at Under the Layers. Today is February 25, 2021, and today we are going to talk about a struggle that I know I have and many others have as well, not eating the right things when we are stressed! This is an important topic to me because I felt like as I explain this I am not only helping people that are struggling with this, but also myself. Every day I wake up craving something no matter what, and it sucks because nine times out of ten it is something that I am not supposed to be having. Now I am not saying to just to watch everything you eat until you conduct an eating disorder, I would never want someone to get obsessed like that. I remember when I was in middle school, I was morbidly obese, and they have to take a series of six tubes of blood to determine why was I eating so much and gaining so much weight. When the results came back, they determine I was borderline diabetic. My family was devastated because they didn’t want me to have to go through all of the issues that many diabetics face, I didn’t really understand what all of that meant at the time but that is some serious stuff. I wanted to share this to explain that dieting is not all about losing weight; I just want to be healthy. Without further ado, let us get into some strategies that can help you guys and help me how to stay away from not only stress eating but to not go to that path. For starters, everything starts with self-discipline; hunger can be over powering once your mind starts going for cravings aw man it’s over. Self-discipline is that little voice in your head that is like “It’s ok to have something you’re not supposed to every once in a while that’s cool, but Caliyia you eating Chick-Fil-A’s chicken tenders with mac and cheese every day is not alright.” Way’s to help stuff like this, for one distract yourself I try to do some schoolwork while drinking water to fill up my stomach. Another great way to relieve stress without eating is listening to music when you are stressed it has to be let out in any type of way. Whether it is working out so basically you are swearing the stress or singing it out, dancing it out, anything that can diminish the stress as fast as possible the better. I hope these ideas give you some inspiration to turn away from stress eating because overall it is not worth it. I know that this can be a platform if I keep pushing and moving forward with it.
